Glycerol Ester Of Gum Rosin Is A Natural Resin Derivative Formed By Esterifying Gum Rosin (Colophony, Derived From Pine Trees) With Glycerol. Its Molecular Formula Is Variable (Polymeric Mixture), With An Average Molecular Weight Of ~900–1000 G/Mol. Synonyms Include Glycerol Rosinate, Ester Gum, And Gum Rosin Glycerol Ester. It Appears As A Pale Yellow To Amber Solid, Soluble In Organic Solvents But Insoluble In Water. Applications Include Food (Chewing Gum Base, Beverage Emulsifier), Adhesives, Inks, Coatings, And Cosmetics.
